Featured at the New School Screen Fest, and as part of a research project for Dr.Silvia Vega-LLona’s Course “Textiles and Textures.”This short documentary explores the Historical context of the Guayabera through the voices of different Miami residents who find themselves in one way or another connected to this traditional Latin American garment. This is done so through a feminist lens, considering intersectional questions of identity, given this garment holds a strong masculine historical context in the predominantly ‘machista’ society that Latin America has found itself in.
